K-12 Educators Select Lightspeed Systems’ Software For Tech And Learning Award of Excellence
Leading provider of school network and security management software recognized for excellence
fourth time this year, on pace to exceed annual growth rate
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – Nov. 5, 2009 – Lightspeed Systems's Total Traffic Control software has been named a
winner of a 2009 Award of Excellence from Tech & Learning magazine. Total Traffic Control is a comprehensive
school network security and management application that simplifies IT administration and combines a full range
of features, including content filtering, mobile filtering, antivirus protection, and e-mail archiving, in a
single, cost-effective solution.
A 27-year-old recognition program, Tech & Learning’s Awards of Excellence recognizes both the "best of the best"
and creative new software, hardware, network, and web products that help educators in the business of teaching,
training and managing with technology. Winning products were rigorously tested and selected by a panel of more
than 30 educators.
“This year's awards have grown to include new hardware and network categories," said Kevin Hogan, editorial
director for Tech & Learning. “Our judges, which include stalwarts such as our resident expert Joe Huber and the
staff of Philadelphia's Science Leadership Academy, put dozens of entries through their paces. To come out with
their seal of approval is a testament to the product.”
The award marks the fourth time this year that Lightspeed Systems has received recognition for its outstanding
products and achievements. The company was recognized on the Inc. 5000 list in 2009 for the third consecutive year
as one of the fastest growing private companies in America, and was named an “Emerging Tech Vendor" by CRN magazine
in 2009 for the second year for providing superior technology and higher margins over more-established information
technology vendors. Lightspeed Systems has maintained an average annual revenue growth rate exceeding 30 percent over
the past four years.
The white paper also outlines the steps for conducting a forensic investigation to review network history,
to examine a user’s district-owned computer, and to gather non-computer related information such as school surveillance
video.
