Monitoring and reporting network activity is an invaluable layer of
security that Lightspeed Firewall delivers. Lightspeed Firewall includes
detailed real-time and recorded stats that tell you the status of your
network at any moment, as well as trends over days or weeks. Reports
may be viewed from anywhere with a web browser and include the following:
- Firewall events
- Intrusion log
- Network activity by individual or group
- Network activity by IP address or range of addresses
- Network activity by type of traffic
- and much more
Rights for viewing site-relevant reports may be given to appropriate
administrators and staff.
Beyond the Basics
The following screen captures represent a sample of the kinds of network
activity that Lightspeed Firewall monitors and reports.
Busiest Protocols gives you a snapshot of the various
protocols that are running inside your network, and how busy each protocol
is.
Users by Internal IP Address displays inbound and
outbound traffic by Username, Hostname (machine name), and IP Address.
This report is the place to begin when you are trying to discover who
is doing what on your network. A search function helps
you quickly find entries for a particular user and link to more detailed
reports.
Internet Search Engine Queries are tracked by user,
date, and time to reveal any attempt to access dangerous or inappropriate
material.
Applications Inventory lists the number of instances
of each application, including patches and upgrades such as Windows
hotfixes, that are installed on networked PCs.
Installed Applications may be linked to from the Applications
Inventory report to list the computers that have an application or hotfix
installed.
